We're back

We're back from our mini vacation... well at least Joey and I had a mini vacation. Ty had to work most of the time. We spent Wed-Fri in Palm Springs, CA. It was lovely!!! The first day it was like 102, so pretty toasty, but supposedly the day before it was close to 110, so at least we didn't hit that. The next two days were pleasan around 90. Mostly we played at this incredibly beautiful park (I've not seen a park that huge or nice ever!!) and swam. The first day we were out there for about 1.5 hours and I got a small burn on my back and shoulders, but nothing too serious. Joey just tanned. Thursday night we did the coolest thing ever! We took the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. It was awesome. You take this tram up a cliff face to about 8000 feet. Up there it's just gorgeous! Here are some pictures I found on the net (I totally forgot to take our camera on the trip). The pictures pretty much are just what it's like.

There was still snow on the ground up there. It would have been cooler if we had dressed with long pants on Joey and a sweatshirt for Ty, but still, it was awesome. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend going on this!
Other than that, our trip was rather uneventful. On the way home, Joey was really anxious to get home. She sure didn't feel good. That night she came down with full blown pink eye. I took her to the dr this morning, and on top of that, she has two raging ear infections. Bummer dude for her. Oh yeah, on the tram ride down, she couldn't get her ears to pop and said the saddest thing ever. "I lost my words." It was her way of telling us the pressure was so great she couldn't hear well and she's still saying it with these ear infections. Hopefully she gets her words back soon.

My Other New Toy

I guess I'm doing my part to stimulate the economy.

I Have Been Demoted

As of tonight I will no longer be the "Axle King." I just got rid of 2 axles. And for what you may ask yourself. Well, another project. I traded for a new, never fired, chevy 350 block. I see more fun in the future.

I am queen

We had some friends over for dinner one night, and afterward we adults were playing games while the kids played in Joey's room. She came out like this and said "Look Mom, I'm queen."

Falling from the sky

I think the birds are falling from the sky. Monday we found a little baby bird in our front yard that wasn't yet big enough to fly. After some calls to some friends, we found out that an animal hospital in town takes them and raises them till they are old enough to be released back in to the wild. Then over the next couple days we had two that fell and didn't survive the fall. Then today comes. I found one at about 10:20 this morning, but was running out the door, so I left it. When I came home, he had hopped across our yard, but I still took him to the animal hospital. When Ty came home for lunch, I found another one, but again, didn't have time to deal with it at that very moment, so I left him. When we finally came home, he was gone. After going to my mom's house for a few minutes, I found 2 more birds who shouldn't have been out of the nest and we quickly ran them to the animal hospital as well. No joke, as I was walking to the front door when we got home, there was another one. The last one probably will freeze tonight, but the hospital is closed and I really didn't want it in my house. What is going on?????? I don't know if the parents are shoving them out or what, but it's getting ridiculous.

Ty's Will Section 45 Part A: Deed of Motorcycles

I hereby will my 1970 Honda Trail 90 (It might need a little TLC) to Derrick and Celeste on the condition that they come visit us in Ridgecrest before I die.

I hereby will my 2007 Honda Shadow VLX to Jarom seeing as how he loves bikes more than he could a human child. (And I'm sure he cries at night for the loss of his Ducati.)

That's not meat #2

So lately I've had some trouble eating meat. I know it's a phase I'm going though and that eventually it will pass, but still. I can't even eat a junior hamburger right now. This has been a problem with trying to fix meals. Yesterday for lunch Ty decided to fire up our grill (for the second time ever!) and cook some hot dogs. I told him I'd try one and see how it was. Well yeah for me, I could actually eat it! I was so excited I told Ty I've finally found some meat I can eat. He said, "You are aware aren't you that you can only eat that because hot dogs aren't real meat." Bummer dude... totally spoiled my thunder. It's still better than nothing... right?

That's not meat

So last night we went to Subway for dinner (I had a long day at work and was too tired to cook). Joey wanted a Ham and Salami sandwich with swiss cheese. She doesn't like anything else on it, so that was it. She took her sandwich apart and ate the ham, then started goofing off. We told her she needs to pay attention and eat her meat (the salami was still there) and she goes, "That's not meat. That's Salami. I already ate the meat. And that's why it's not meat!"

Birds!

So another reason I know spring is here. There are birds everywhere!!! It's like they popped out of thin air when spring came. Well not acutally as we've been annoyed by the birds since we moved into our house, but I think they've gotten worse. We have this huge palm tree in our front yard that I'm pretty much sure is a high rise bird condo. And they don't discriminate. I've seen little hummingbirds go in there, doves, sparrows, and other species I don't know. So at least they rent space to anyone who pays their dues. By that I mean, wins the fight. I've literally seen birds push other birds out of the tree and start fighting on the grass. I wonder if our condo is full of domestic disputes or what. Anyway, when they get kicked out, they don't seem to go far. These two bird nests are right out our back door. Literally maybe 4 feet away. I know they are used because one of the birds comes out and sits on the back light and watches for anyone coming and attacks them when they get near. I really hope I'm not near when he goes on a rampage. He looks vicious. Ty told me he'll take them down, but I can't, cuz what if there are eggs in the nests... I can't be responsible for their murder!!
