Crazy???
So I have been told before that I am pretty crazy because of some of the things I do. Right now, I am feeling crazy again. Why? I recently signed up for the Parkway Half Marathon in Sacramento on April 26. You can read all about it here. Here is a picture of me out while running one day a few weeks ago. It was such a beautiful day. It was like 50's, overcast and drizzling on me while I ran. As of now, my farthest run has been 8 miles, but I'm sure I will be ready come race day. Wish me luck.
World of Wonders Museum
One weekend my parents came up to visit us at our new house and my brother came over to see it too. First we all met up in Lodi, CA and went to the World of Wonders museum (our second time going). I thought I had read somewhere that they change the exhibits fairly often, but I must have mistaken, because most, if not all of them, were the same. However, the kids still had a blast playing. In case you don't remember me talking about it, it is a hands on science museum. Well, like I said, we met up with my parents and brother's family. Well, my dad is a physicist, and so is my brother and his wife. It was so fun to watch my dad and brother go through and play with all the exhibits. It would just make me laugh to watch them. Afterward, we came back to our house and had a family BBQ and played. My brother can finally see why we picked way out here to move instead of living in a city. It really is beautiful. Oh, and our trampoline has been tearing for a while, it is old and sun rotten, and finally broke when my brother was on it. At least it didn't break with a bunch of kids on it. Then, to cap off the fun with family, my dad got sick (we think food poisoning since he was the only one to eat before the museum at a restaurant and the only one sick), and my washer broke, and we had no choice but to replace it so we could wash all the laundry. But now we have a nice, new washer that I mostly love.

Story time
So we discovered story time at the library here. Probably the best story time we have been to. They start with music time for about 30-45 minutes, then read one or two books, then do these fun crafts. In the kid area of the library, there is this plastic drum thing that all the kids love to climb in. L likes to get in and "hide." Here are some pictures...
See????
See? My computer was so sick, we had to almost gut it to get to the broken part to fix it. I'm glad my brother is good at puzzles. Since we were already over there so he could help with the computer, we decided to have fun and make graham cracker houses. The kids had loads of fun and sugar highs when we were done. :)
Snow Storm
So in early December it snowed here. It was so funny. I remember shopping a couple days before the storm was due in, and like always, I was buying about a weeks worth of groceries. I remember the checker asking me if I was stocking up before the storm so I didn't have to go out in it. I about laughed. After last winter, and all the snow we had in Ely, whatever they were expecting was going to be easy peasy. The biggest reason I didn't want to go anywhere for a few days after the storm was because I didn't trust all the other drivers on the road. Hilly terrain, snow, and drivers not used to driving in it just didn't seem like a combination I wanted to be out in. We did end up getting about two inches, and while the kids were glad it wasn't more, they sure had fun in it. One snow storm a year works for me. :)
Christmas
We went seriously low-key for Christmas. We just had been traveling so much for most of the year, that we didn't really want to go anywhere, and we were trying to keep the focus of Christmas on Christ, not presents and Santa. In fact, we almost didn't have a Christmas tree up all season, though, that had nothing to do with the focus of Christmas. That was because the kids were so crazy this year that they broke many of my ornaments. Some that couldn't be replaced. And they were even put up high on the tree. But the tree did stay up until a couple days after Christmas. Oh, someone in our ward here dresses up as Santa on Christmas eve, and you can sign up to have him come visit your house. He even brings presents for the kids. So that was pretty special for them. I'm hoping that everything goes smoother next year....
We are alive
I wanted to let you know that I am back. I'm sorry I have been absent from the blogging world lately, but my computer broke and it took my brother and a friend a while to get it fixed for me. But I have it back now. I can't tell you how nice it has been to have my computer back. Besides blogging on it, I deal with bills on it, L plays his "school" (ABC Mouse) on it, and the list goes on. We haven't done a whole lot lately. We have just been chilling around the house, getting to know the area a bit better, and loving all of it.
So where did I last leave off with the blog? Oh, Halloween. Well, lets skip to Thanksgiving. For Thanksgiving we went to my brothers house and had a blast. My sister from Ridgecrest and her family came and also my older brother and his family from Vegas came. We just hung out for several hours and played, then had a super yummy dinner together. 17 people in all. Loud, busy, and just the way a family get together is supposed to be. :)
