Can you believe that I have three different things for this letter? I know, it surprised me too. Onto my S's though...Steps. Liam is taking steps all on his own now. He's been walking along furniture pretty well for a few weeks now, so we knew he needed to get the confidence down, then our lives would be over. Well it happened on Friday. I was sitting on the couch reading a book (wearing my reading glasses) when Liam started laughing at me (cuz I look funny in my glasses) and let go of what he was holding onto and just started walking to me. It was so fun to see him do that. He took about 3 steps that day, and by Sunday he was taking 4 steps. Not much longer and I'm sure he'll be running after Jordan. I honestly can't wait because I know how much fun those two will have together once he can really walk good.
Smart. I know, every parent says their kid is smart, but Jordan really is smart. On Friday after school, her teacher told us that Jordan already knows the work they are doing, so can she start sending her home with first grade homework. I was floored. I never though Jordan was that far ahead of her class, but apparently she is. We were supposed to get the work on Monday, but the homework packets weren't ready yet. It totally bummed Joey out that she couldn't start her first grade homework. This being smart thing is really convient for me too because now I can say "Well, your teacher says you must be smart, and smart girls know how to (insert whatever is necessary here) so you should know it or be able to figure it out." It's also helped her gain more confidence in her reading since she was told she was ahead. I wonder if that's why she's always gotten so bored with things, because they were too easy. Hhhhmmmmmmmm....
Strong. Liam is a strong kid. He can go from sitting to standing all on his own without holding onto something now. And he just stands there forever it seems like if he's content to watch whatever is going on. He's also trying to lift things that I would have thought too heavy for him, but thus far, has had no problem. We're hoping he just stays buff like this. But it's Joey as the strong one that I want to blog about. Yesterday she went to gymnastics, and her instructor told us that Jordan must have been practicing because she's improving a lot. She muscels herself up on the bars without help now, she can almost kick herself up on the rings, she's holding her legs out straight on the parallel bars, stuff like that. I don't know when it all happened, but somehow she got really good. It seemed like just yesterday she started doing it. They break the skill levels down into Pregymnastics Levels 1, 2, and 3. Then onto Level 1 and so forth. Right now Jordan is in pregymnastics level 2, and her instructor is debating skipping pregymnastics level 3 and moving her straight to level 1. I think we will do the pregymnastics level 3, but I don't think she'll be in it for long before they move her up again. Go Joey!!!!
