We've joined the ranks of...

Ladder owners. We had been borrowing a ladder from my parents, but decided it was time to get our own. First, the one we were borrowing is only 5 ft tall, so to get off the roof after working on the swamp cooler entailed jumping down onto the trampoline (which I did once before I got pregnant and won't do again). Secondly, it was just time. We got a little giant type ladder so it has tons of different positions and heights. It will be nice to use in the house when I'm painting, or to use to get on the roof. We put our ladder to good use today as we finally rigged up a drain for the swamp cooler so it doesn't just drain into a big puddle by the house.

It's a.....

Boy. Congratulations to those of you who guessed right. Most people here really really thought it was a girl, but nope, it's a boy. The lady doing the ultrasound was getting all kinds of measurements, then went to find out for us, took the picture and said "Can you tell?" Joey about broke down into tears. She quit looking at the baby after that cuz she was so mad! She really wanted a sister. I went back upstairs to my work to tell them and Joey came with me and everytime anyone would say "boy" she'd get mad and start saying they are all wrong. Thankfully we have time to get her used to the idea. She is warming up to it more now, but still really wants a sister. She told me next time I have to have a sister for her.
Anyway, he wouldn't show his whole face for any picture, no matter what we tried, so this is the best picture of him we got.

What is it?
We had an ultrasound today. Frog's head is measuring big, so I'm hoping it means I won't go all 40 weeks, but we'll see. I was also recommended to come back in just over a month for another one, cuz Frog is too small for some measurments the dr wants. So we may get to see Frog again! We also got to find out if it's a boy or girl. I'm not going to tell you yet though. We have a little poll on the side and I want you guys to guess first. I'll give you a week to guess. I have to do this cuz so far, only 2 people have guessed right. That means like 10+ people thought wrong, and I'm just curious about the rest of ya. So please vote before next week.

The pictures
Here are pictures of Joey before we cut her hair. She is in love with being weird in front of the camera right now, so sorry about the funny things she's doing in some of them. Also, a couple of them show how long her hair really was getting!
Hair Cuts!!
We did it!!! We cut our hair! There were some dramatic moments by Joey, but what can you expect as it was her first hair cut. Once they cut the big piece off, she was ok, and now she loves her hair. I totally learned something new about her hair too. It's super course and has curl! It's always seemed fine and mostly straight. I mean, I've notice, especially lately, that it has waves, but when she cut it today, I was amazed to see how curly it was. We did get enough to donate to Locks of Love. I hope her hair is in good enough condition for them to use! Anyway, here are a bunch of pictures. Most are Joey, but there are some of me too so you can see my before and after.

When do I get him back?
When do I get my hubby back? Work has stolen him from me for the last two weeks, and I can't wait to get him back. He presented the budget to City Council last night, so I thought I'd get him back today, but he came home at 11pm and dashed my hopes. He told me that basically I get him this weekend, and have to give him back up starting next tuesday until the following wednesday (june 17). So I don't get him until then. And I mean, he stays late, works weekends and holidays (or the day off he had for the holiday). He only has had Sunday off since last Tuesday (and still has to work tomorrow). Joey and I just can't wait to have him back.
In other work news for Ty, he's officially finance director! He signed the contract yesterday.

Life update
So I realized I haven't really told anyone any updates on the life happenings of us here, so here are some of what's going on with us.
Ty is crazy busy with the budget. It is due to come out on Wednesday night, so he put in a lot of overtime last week (working Saturday as well as staying late most nights) and is even working today, which is supposed to be his day off. He will probably be late tomorrow and surely be really late wednesday as he is releasing the budget at council meeting.
I am busy with work and Joey. Not to mention I've been pretty sick with this pregnancy. I am finally getting some energy back, so I am trying to get some projects around the house done. One of the projects was replacing the handles to the faucet in Joey's bathroom. The old ones were original to the house and corroded and nasty yucky. I had bought the stuff shortly after we moved in, so about two weeks ago I called my dad over to help me get the project done. We got the handles off and had to go find a replacement part, only to find out that they don't make anything even remotely like that anymore, so all these parts I had bought earlier were useless. At least I could return them and put it towards a whole new faucet. So we got back from buying the new faucet, and got stuck, as neither my dad nor I had the strength to finish where we left off. It sat for about a week and a half until I made Ty get in the the grinder and grind off the old faucet. Then it sat some more until I could finally get it scrapped clean and my dad was feeling up to coming back and helping us (a few days after we started this project he had a bone marrow biopsy which means he had a 1/4 inch hole drilled in his hip). Thankfully last Thursday it was ready to finally be finished, so he came over. Now here is what her lovely new faucet looks like (the handles need to be adjusted ever so slightly, but still).

Joey is getting bigger (don't I say that every time?). Last Tuesday, we signed up up for preschool that will be starting in August. It will be 3 hours a day twice a week. I think it will be good for her. Also, and probably bigger in her life, last week I made an appointment for her and I to get our hair cut (she wouldn't do it unless I did too). So all this growing my hair out for nothing. We are going to chop her hair short and donate it to Locks of Love. I told her I would try to get a lot of pictures over the next week of her with long hair. So here are some of the last pictures of her with long hair! I will miss how pretty it is, but won't miss how hard it is to do her hair all the time.
