Being Pregnant

I figured that most of you haven't seen me preggo (count your blessings) or know much of what's going on with my pregnancy. Well I don't have a picture of the belly (I'm chicken) but I can tell you a little about how things are going with the little guy.
-I'm currently 24 weeks (meaning I only have 16 to go)
-I'm due Nov. 18, 2009
-My dr. thinks I'll have the kid at least a week early
-I've already started having swelling problems and my dr is going to try to figure out why
-This little guys moves more in one day than Jordan did during the whole 9 months (at least it feels like that)
-I like watching my belly move as he does (Joey never did this)
-Ty loves to laugh at that as well
-Ty loves to get the kid kicking as I'm trying to sleep, so I am awake forever while the kid is doing acrobatics in my belly
-I am still sick, though not constantly
-Zofran has been a lifesaver
-I lost over 20 pounds and have put back on 15 of them
-Several people told me to go to the hospital for IV nutrients while I was at my worst, and my dr. almost ordered it--- thankfully I missed that one
-The little guy is measuring big (over a week big)
-At 20 weeks people were still asking me what my secret was to losing weight
-A week later people were amazed that I finally had a belly
-I am secretly (well, now its not a secret anymore) kinda terrified to have a boy because I don't know what to do with a boy. Girls... I know all about them, but I am nervous about a boy.
-Joey loves to give her baby brother hugs and kisses
-I usually don't mind when people rub my belly... however, there are certain people where it is weird
-I am miserably hot in the afternoon (when is 115 outside. and we discovered our swamp cooler isn't big enough to cool the house, so it's 85 inside)
-I want to start getting some things so that Joey gets the playing with them out of her system before he comes
-I hate buying maternity clothes because they are so expensive for how little I'm going to be wearing them
-Joey is excited to help me change his diapers... she's practicing on her babies already
-I am kinda in the nesting phase already, but too exhausted to do much cleaning like I'd like to

That's about all I can think of (at least that is appropriate to mention). Maybe I'll be brave while in Utah and let Ty take a picture so you guys can see. If there is more that I can think of about being pregnant, I'll post later.

Buh-Bye bird condo!

I forgot to blog about something fairly big that happened to us at the end of last month. We got rid of our high-rise, low-rent bird condo! We actually had someone come chop it down, but the end result is the same. No more birds! It's not that we are actually against the birds. I kinda liked them. I did not like their poop that was everywhere. All over all 3 porches, all over the window at the front ot the house, all over the roof of the house, the walkways, you name it, it was there. Also, after 25 birds feel out of the tree, I got really sick of cleaning them up too. Here are some of the pictures of it coming down. I wasn't there to take these, so thanks to my little bro who went over and took them.

Here it is before it came down.

Here is one of the guys trimming the frawns off the tree so they could chop the top half off.

The top half of the tree.

Them hauling off the top half of the tree (the tractor ended up breaking two of our sprinklers).

The bottom half of the tree about to come down.

Well, that is the end of the pictures. They smoothed the top of the stump off so that we can make it into a table there. It is just nice to have them gone.

Happy Birthday to Joey!!!

Joey turns 4 today!!! I can't believe how fast time has flown by! She is a little confused as to when her actual birthday is because on Sunday Primary sang to her, yesterday my family did a big family dinner (today is also my sister's birthday and the 17th was my little bro's birthday), today we are doing a little family birthday for her, and either Friday or Saturday we'll have all her friends over for cake. It's a whole week of birthday's for her. But she loves every minute of the attention.

We're Melting!!!

We're melting out here in our desert!! The past few days the temperatures have been flirting with 120 (it might have hit it today) but it's so humid, our swamp coolers aren't working! Our house barely cools below 80, even at nights. It really wouldn't be so bad without the humidity. Basically, all there is to do is stay in the house or go somewhere cooler, and avoid the out doors like the plague. Hope none of you are dealing with this nasty weather.

Pictures from LA

So I told you guys a while back that we went to a Dodgers game with the Comeau's, but I didn't have my camera for pictures. Well "A" is a life saver and tried to take pictures of us to make up for me not having my camera. Thank you tons!!!!!!!!! Here is a slideshow of the pictures. We first went to the beach and were there for a couple hours. Joey and Ty had a great time in the water even though it was cold water and the skies were cloudy that day.

Any ideas?

So we are going to be in Utah again for our anniversary, and we are having troubles figuring out what to do for it. Ty thought of going to Lagoon again, but since I can't ride most of the rides, I threw that idea out. I also can't go on most of the slides and such at 7 Peaks, so that was thrown out. So we were wondering if any of you who live in or have lived in Utah have any good ideas for what we can do for our anniversary.

Hooray for warranties!!

This morning before I headed into work, I went out to start some laundry. Passing by the water heater I went "Oh man!!!!" There was a puddle under the water heater, and I was watching it drip. Mind you, I only had about 10 minutes before I needed to be out the door, so there wasn't anything I could do at that moment. My mind did start racing trying to figure out the steps needed to replace a water heater. I even asked my baby sitter if the store her husband runs carries them in stock. After I got off work, I picked up Joey and my sitter's kids (we both only work 2 hours a day, so we switch baby sitting), I had some errands to run for Ty. Thankfully someone at his work is smart and said, "Since you just bought your house, isn't there a warranty?" When Ty called and told me about that I just thought, "Duh!!!!! We've already used that a few times, how could I forget?" It saved us from spending around $500 on a new water heater, down to $30 and that was even installed (that part surprised my parents)!! Now I can see why people get extended warranties.

4th of July

I was so excited we found our camera, I took lots of pictures this 4th. I had a brother and his wife come over from Vegas for the weekend because my neice got blessed. Everyone came over to our place for a bbq. We also celebrated my dad's birthday since his birthday is the 6th. Afterward, we played Apples to Apples for a few hours. We sure had a good time. Then we went to my sister's house to watch the local fireworks display since she lives just down the street from it.
Oh yeah Joey showed us that morning that she can fit her hand in her mouth. Ahhhhhh... the things that are important in life when you are 3.

Joey refuses to smile and be normal for the camera anymore. Oh well. If you look closely, you can kinda see the discoloration of her front tooth.

Joey and "Monkey Mike" jumping on the trampoline.

Joey helped Nana put the candles on the cake.

Joey and I enjoying Sparklers. She's still always asking if she can do more fireworks. Good thing we saved a few......

The three of us.

What's new??

Sorry I haven't blogged anything lately. It just seems like not much is going on. I'll try to think of things.
We went to the beach in Santa Monica just over a week ago. That night we also went to Dodger's stadium and watched a game. It was a blast! I didn't get picture cuz we lost our camera (my mom had it for some reason). I'm going to try to have Ashley email some to me (hint hint). We sat in the all you can eat Dodger Dog section. It was pretty good. We would so go back (although with a camera this time)! We did have to leave early because it was late (around 11), we had a 3 hour drive home, and both Ty and I had to work the next day. On our way home, we got lost and drove around the LA freeways for an hour before we finally found a road I know that leads home. Ty decided he will not go back into LA without a gps. We actually got lost once earlier that day. Both times we were lost, Joey sat in the back seat crying, "I'm never going to see my friends again. I miss my friends." When I asked her if she wanted to go the beach again, she said "No, I don't want to get lost again."
Joey's remaining front tooth started turning brown last week. It really worried me because it was really sudden that it started changing. I was terrified that they were going to have to pull her tooth. I didn't want my kid to not have any front teeth for a few years! She'd get teased soooo bad! And I would miss her having teeth. I got her into the dental clinic we took her to when she knocked out her tooth for a checkup. The dentist said that he couldn't tell from the xrays if there is any nerve damage, but to keep an eye on the gums around her tooth. If they start swelling or draining, she'll probably have to have the root cleaned, and may still lose the tooth. It was a relief knowing that she didn't have to lose that tooth yet though.
That's about it for us. We are mostly boring and trying hard to stay inside as it's 110+ outside during the day.
