Quick funny thing
So I really do have stuff to blog about, but we will be heading on the road again here in a few minutes. I just want to put this down for you guys all to laugh at. I had another one of those "I never thought I would say this to my kids" moments. I don't know who started this fight, but my kids were fighting about who farted (as in they each were saying they did it). It went on for several minutes before I had to tell my kids "Quit fighting about who farted." Nope, not kidding, and nope, I honestly didn't think I'd have to ever say that to my kids again.

Question????
So I have a question for you guys. Do any of you actually read the blog to see what's going on? I am just curious, because if not, I will probably make this private and keep it more as a family journal. Let me know if you still want to know about us. We actually have had things going on lately......

Surgery
So Tyrell has been having problems with his right shoulder for a few years. It has been getting steadily worse as time goes on. Just before Christmas I finally talked him into going into the doctor to get it looked at. I got the recommendation of what local doctor from my work. So at the beginning of the year he went in. On the x-rays they had taken before we were able to see large calcium deposits. Dr. Taylor gave him a cortisone injection and ordered physical therapy for him. If that failed, then he was to get an MRI and go back in to decide what was next. Well, he did therapy for almost three straight months and ended worse than he began. So he went in for the MRI then back to see Taylor. Taylor decided the best thing for Tyrell would be to have the calcium deposits surgically removed, and then, if there was any tearing to the rotator cuff, to fix it. They couldn't really tell if there was tearing or not because of the size of the deposits, but they didn't think there was any tearing. So on May 24, Tyrell went in for surgery. His surgery was scheduled for 7 am, but he had to be there at 5:30 so they could do a nerve block for his shoulder. Thankfully my dad was willing to get up super early and take him in since I had to deal with the kids and getting Jordan ready for school. Then my sister took Liam that morning so that I could get some stuff done around the house and since I didn't know what time Tyrell would be ready. So around 9:00 or so, I get a call from the doctor. He said that everything went well. Thankfully there was no rotator cuff tear, but there was some Labrum tearing that he cleaned up. While the labrum is vital to your shoulder, the tear there wasn't nearly as bad as if he had torn the rotator cuff. About an hour and a half later I got a call from my mom (who was Tyrell's recovery nurse) that he would be getting up soon, so I get in the Mustang and head to work. When I get there, I am told Tyrell started going back downhill, so they would be keeping him longer. By going downhill I just mean that everytime they tried to sit him up he would get really dizzy and nauseous. No big deal, but while he was like that, there was no way they would release him. Also, while I was there, I hear about Tyrell coming out of anethesia. He learned he would likely be a violent drunk. Usually, most people do not have a problem when they just stop the anesthesia and switch a patient to oxygen, but occasionally you have people who feel claustrophobic or something and come up fighting. That was my Tyrell. It took 5 people to hold him down for about 15-20 minutes until they could get him to stop fighting. He kicked my boss in the face and punched a nurse in the face hard enough that it knocked her glasses and mask off. They had two people holding his good arm down (thanks to the nerve block, he couldn't move his right arm at all), and a person lying across each leg, with the anesthesiologist trying to hold his head still. Thankfully, everyone was a good sport about it (I think they would be no matter who the patient was) and just teased him about it. Needless to say, Tyrell is a little afraid of going back up there, especially since my boss threatened to get him back. Tyrell was so doped up that I decided not to get any pictures of him while he was still at the center, but I did capture this one a couple days later. Sorry it is blurry. Since there was no tear, he didn't have to wear a sling all the time, but he wore it out in public for several days so no one would smack his arm or shoulder.

And here he is a few days later at our wards annual Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast.

Just chillin
Jordan's first...
I don't feel like I can say this much anymore, but Jordan had another first a few weeks ago. I mean, when you are almost 7, you've hit a lot of firsts. This one was rather unexpected. I picked Jordan up from school one day and she started crying in the car. It's not that unusual as she will cry whenever she has a bad day. So we get home to talk about her day, and I notice a large scratch all down her face. She had been playing on the monkey bars (which constantly gives her blisters on her hands) when she fell off and face-planted. On top of the large scratch, she got her first black eye. She had a nice bruise on her eyelid as well as it was going down on both sides of her nose. It didn't last long thankfully. Sorry the picture is bad, but I took it with my new phone.
